MEET ALOHA KELLY
We’re excited to introduce you to Aloha, a luxury boudoir photographer and featured member of The Collective. We recently connected with her and have shared our conversation below.
Can you tell us about the service(s) you offer and how you got your start?
I am a luxury boudoir photographer and founder of Love Exposed Boudoir, with studios located in St. Louis and DC. I help women see themselves with confidence, power and love.
I started in weddings but found my passion in telling HER story - the love story each woman has with herself.
What makes you + your business unique?
Every session is a luxury, personalized experience. I create moments of self-love and transformation that last long after the session ends..
Can you share a bit about why you choose to do what you do?
Love. When women see themselves with love and confidence, it ripples into every part of their lives. That's why I do this.
How would your clients describe working with you?
Like shooting with a best friend - fun, relaxed and life-changing. Many say the experience is therapeutic and empowering.
Tell us about a big lesson that you've learned while in your industry.
Boudoir is about the emotional journey and the transformation is always bigger than the images.
We all have favorite wedding moments. Can you share with us some of your favorites?
1. Brides gifting albums that brought tears.
2. Late-night surprises before the wedding
3. Anniversary sessions as gifts to themselves and their partners.
Who was your most memorable wedding/couple and why?
A bride after a tornado - nervous, overwhelmed, but her day turned out perfect. Her husband adored the gift, and it became the highlight of her wedding.
If you could give advice to your past self or someone starting new, what would you say?
Trust your vision. Stop comparing - you bring something no one else can.
What is something that you really excel at when it comes to your business? Can you share a tip?
Branding and marketing with heart. My tip: sell the story, not the service. Connection is everything.
What is an achievement you're most proud of?
This year: winning Photographer of the Year with AIBP and MoPPA plus Best in Show.
