Member Spotlight: Bridal Parlour

Meet Bridal parlour

We’re excited to introduce you to Heather Craft, Owner of Bridal Parlour, an exquisite St. Louis bridal shop and featured member of The Collective. We recently connected with her and have shared our conversation below.

Can you tell us about the service(s) you offer and how you got your start?

Bridal Parlour specializes in Luxury Bridal Gowns. I have worked in the bridal industry for 15 years after getting my Masters in mental health counseling. From there, I merged my love for working with people and my love for high fashion.

What makes you + your business unique?

Our focus is on modern styles with luxury elements in a private viewing appointment. We believe in catering to one bride at a time to experience finding her wedding gown with only her nearest and dearest.

Can you share a bit about why you choose to do what you do?

Bridal Parlour was born from my love for love, fashion, and bringing joy to people in such a special way.

How would your clients describe working with you?

I have heard that I am very laid back and not pushy. I’m also told that I give an air of understanding, kindness, and guidance.

Tell us about a big lesson that you've learned while in your industry.

Perfection doesn’t exist - it is all about the moment and how you feel in that moment that is so special. Embrace the day for all its wild and crazy joy.

We all have favorite wedding moments. Can you share with us some of your favorites?

I once had a bride who came in looking for a very specific style. She had been to numerous stores in the region and was on the edge of hopelessness. As she cried, we sat down on the sofa and figured out together her vision for her wedding. By the end of the appointment, we had happy tears and a perfectly created unique piece. Another time, I had a bride come in after buying a gown at another shop where she felt pressured into her purchase. After trying on just two gowns, she was elated and bouncing around with happiness. She gave off such a warm and excited vibe. We totally clicked and she even invited me to her wedding! We still keep in contact years later. Lastly, I had a bride who purchased a gown then lost an incredible amount of weight. We ended up doing a redo to find the perfect gown which fit her new style and figure. When she picked up her second gown, she brought me a little cozy blanket as a thank you - I still snuggle under it.

Who was your most memorable wedding/couple and why?

There are simply too many to say but some people simply glow from their soul, and I always remember the women who do it effortlessly.

If you could give advice to your past self or someone starting new, what would you say?

You got this. Seriously. Self-confidence is one of the most important things in owning your own business. Believe in yourself and everyone around you will absorb it.

What is something that you really excel at when it comes to your business? Can you share a tip?

I’m really good at reading personalities and body language. I also don't believe in pushing someone into a sale. It’s like your fiance - If they're perfect now, they will be perfect after you sleep on it too.

What is an achievement you're most proud of?

It makes me feel warm and fuzzy anytime someone else in the bridal industry chooses to work with me on their big day!

Any random, off the wall fun fact you care to share with us?

Im positively obsessed with cats.

We loved learning more about Bridal Parlour and are thrilled to have them in The Collective. Be sure to give them a follow!
